A strong partnership for energy

Are you curious about buildings standards in the US compared to Switzerland ? Are you wondering where the next successful and innovative energy company will emerge? Will the next generation of energy specialists be working only with apps and smartphone? Well, you are not the only one thinking about these questions, so do the American Ambassador in Switzerland, Suzi LeVine, and Walter Steinmann, Director of the Swiss Federal Office for Energy (SFOE). Her Excellency LeVine kindly hosted a special reception on Thursday, March 12, 2015 where the best energy specialists, professionals and academics from Switzerland met and discussed the challenges of the energy future. During this reception, Director Steinmann announced the 2nd Swiss-US Energy Innovation Days, which will be held in Zürich from August 18 to 21, 2015.

The first edition took place successfully in Boston in July 2014. The event, which was jointly organized by the SFOE and swissnex Boston, gathered around 150 Swiss and US executives in energy from academia, governmental, and various industry sectors. The Swiss delegation was led by Federal Councillor Doris Leuthard.

The second edition of the Swiss-US Energy Innovation Days 2015 will focus on Integrated Building Systems: Representatives from Swiss and US universities, companies, state institutions and organizations will examine 4 topics: Energy Technologies, Architecture & Space, Mobility and Society. They will explore innovations and new business opportunities in workshops, site visits and evening receptions, which will be jointly organized with our partners, the Swiss Society of Engineers and Architects (SIA), the Zurich University of Applied Sciences (ZHAW), and the Massachusetts Clean Energy Center (MassCEC). The Swiss-US Energy Innovation Days 2015 will mark another milestone on the path to a fruitful energy cooperation between our two countries.
